Kelly McCreary , Maggie Pierce’s actress, celebrated the end of recording and reinforced that the title will have an 18th season . “And that’s a wrap on season 17. I love you all! James Pickens Jr. , who plays Richard Webber, recalled one of his first photos on the social network and talked about his friendship with Kevin McKidd , the interpreter of Owen Hunt. One of my first posts, back in 2015 with Kevin, who happened to direct tonight’s episode. Season 17 finale, we’ve come a long way ‘Kidd’. Enjoy tonight’s show,” he posted.
Kidd posted a photo with part of the cast, including Ellen Pompeo , actress of the protagonist Meredith Grey. “Happy hiatus everyone! Feeling blessed. Ellen, you ‘killed’ him last night! Lots of love, Kev (officially on hiatus for a few weeks),” he said.
“After a long day of filming the wedding sequence, I don’t think anyone realized how much we all missed dancing. Dancing and celebrating with others. This year has been so strange for all of us. Having the chance to just dance together it was so healing for everyone in that tent. I think that feeling comes through in the final episode, such a release and reaffirmation of the life force and human survival instinct. We lost so many to covet, so many lives gone… we danced to honor them , to look to the future, because we can. I wanted to share this beauty with all of you – what a wild ride this pandemic has been, hasn’t it? We are the survivors. Peace to all”, added Kevin, speaking of the Covid-19 pandemic .
Upon reading Owen’s interpreter’s outburst, Kelly commented: “Very well said, Kevin. We needed this so much to express the exaltation of collective liberation! I will be forever grateful for the sense of wild joy I experienced, surrounded by the people we went through this with together So much gratitude for each bed of the team that contributed to that unforgettable moment!”
